In an interview ZTE CEO Cheng Lixin has confirmed that the smartphone company will announce ZTE Axon 9 in 2018, which will be the successor of ZTE Axon 7. He also added that the company skipped the announcement of ZTE Axon 8. The specifications of the device has not confirmed by the company yet.
The predecessor ZTE Axon 7 with aluminum body sports QHD AMOLED display of 5.5” with the resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, pixel density of 534ppi and also has Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor of 2.15 GHz coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and runs on Android Marshmallow based on MiFavor 4.0 UI.
The device includes a rear camera of 20MP with aperture f/1.8, Samsung Isocell sensor, sapphire lens and dual LED flash which is capable of record videos upto 2160p at 30 frames per second and front facing camera of 8MP. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE and Fingerprint sensor on its rear side.
The device comes in two versions which include internal storage capacity of 64GB with 4GB RAM and 128 GB storage with 6 GB of RAM, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. It has the dimension of 154 x 77 x 9.8 mm and weight of 175 grams.
Connectivity wise, the device features 3GHSPA+, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB Type-C port, NFC and GPS. The main attraction of the device is its dual speakers with Dolby sound system and Hi-Fi 2.0 based on AK4961 and AK4490 chips.
It is powered by a non-removable 3140 mAh battery for fast charging with the help of Quick Charge 3.0.
