The smartphone manufacturer launched its latest device Vivo Y79 in China at 2,498 Yuan (Rs 24,637). It is the rebrand of the Vivo V7+ smartphone which was launched in India in September this year. Both Vivo Y79 and Vivo V7+ have the similar specifications except the chipset used in the device. The device Vivo Y79 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor while the Vivo V7+ features Snapdragon 450 chipset.
The device Vivo Y79 with a metal unibody design comes with 5.99-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) 18:9 FullView 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, expandable memory up to 256GB with microSD. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU and runs on Funtouch OS 3.2 based on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat). It has dual-SIM functionality, dimension of 155.87 × 75.7 × 7.7mm and weighs 160g. The device comes with face access, which is basically facial recognition and it also features a fingerprint sensor at the back panel. It also comes with Hi-Fi AK4376A chipset for an immersive sound experience.
It has 24-megapixel moonlight selfie camera with aperture f/2.0, face beauty 7.0, video calling-face beauty mode, group selfies and portrait mode and a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF quick focus, aperture f/2.0 and LED flash.
Connectivity wise, it features 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS and it supports 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip. It is powered by 3225mAh built-in battery.
