The latest smartphone Google Pixel 2 was announced earlier of this month. Now a leaked memo from Telstra, which is the Australian carrier partner for the Google Pixel 2 and a screenshot from a JB HiFi group chat confirmed that the device Google Pixel 2 will be launched in Australia on 31st October.
The device Google Pixel 2 with Aluminum unibody comes with 5-inch (1920x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with 95% DCI-P3 coverage, 100000:1 super contrast ratio, 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has 4GB DDR4X RAM, 64GB / 128GB storage. It is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with Adreno 540 GPU and runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo).
It has the dimension of 145.7 x 69.7 x 7.8 mm and weighs 143g. It has a Water and dust Resistant (IP67) body with a fingerprint sensor on the back.
The device has 12.2MP rear camera with LED flash, OIS, EIS, f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixel size, laser + dual pixel phase detection, 4K video recording and a front-facing camera of 8MP with f/2.4 aperture, 1.4μm pixel size.
Connectivity wise, it features 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac 2x2MIMO (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC and also features Stereo front-firing speakers. It is powered by 2,700mAh battery with fast charging.
The pre-orders for the device is going on via Telstra on 20th October 20, and will come with free Google Home Mini. The users will get the device Google Pixel 2 at AUD 1,080 (around $845).
