The device Xiaomi Mi Max 2 already announced in China in May. Now the company Xiaomi sent out invites for its launching in India on 18th July. The invite quotes “Last year, we made ripples with this new category and now it is back. Join us in witnessing the return on ‘BIG’ at Xiaomi media briefing”. It will be the successor of the Xiaomi Mi Max that was launched in India on July, 2016.
The device Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a full metal unibody design which features 6.44-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display with 450nits brightness, 4GB RAM with 64GB / 128GB storage, expandable memory with microSD. It is powered by 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 506 GPU and runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat). It comes with dimension of 174.1×88.7×7.6mm; weighs 211g and has Hybrid Dual- SIM functionality. It has a fingerprint sensor on its back.
The device includes a 12MP rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, Sony IMX386 sensor, 1.25μm pixel size and a front-facing camera of 5MP with 85-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity wise, it features 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C. It is powered by 5300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
The cost of the device Xiaomi Mi Max 2 in Golden and Black colors in China starts at 1699 yuan (US$ 247 / Rs.15949 approx.), but the company didn’t reveal its cost for the Indian users yet. It will be known on its launching.
