We have had a couple of leaked and rumored details about the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 including the likely specifications and design over the past couple of weeks. Today, Xiaomi has put these leaks and rumors to rest by launching the Mi Pad 3 in China. It is the successor of Mi Pad 2 that was introduced back in 2015.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 features a 7.9-inch retina display with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution and thus offering a pixel density of up to 326ppi. It is powered by a high-performance hexa-core 2.1GHz MediaTek MT8176 processor and runs on Android Marshmallow operating system with Xiaomi’s own MIUI8. The Mi Pad 3 is made from a metal alloy material which gives its appearance a tough but slightly textured look.
In the rear side of the tablet it has a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and in the front side it has a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 comes with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal memory. It uses the USB Type-C charging interface and supports WiFi 802.11ac dual antenna band.
Connectivity wise the tablet offers 4G LTE (model dependent), Wi-Fi display, Wifi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and a microUSB port. The tablet is 328 grams in weight. The main highlight of the tablet is its huge 6600 mAh battery with support for 5V/2A fast charging. The battery offers to browse 12 hours of local video and 867 hours of Standby time.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 will be made available for sale from tomorrow in Champagne Gold colour on Xiaomi Mall, Lynx, Jingong, Suning and Mi Home, in China and its price is RMB 1,499 which is approximately Rs 14,100. However, we don’t have any idea on whether Xiaomi plans to launch the tablet in India.
