Oppo finally announced a couple of devices Oppo R9s and Oppo R9s Plus at its fixed schedule, as stated earlier. Both the devices are the successor of Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 Plus, which were launched in March, 2015. Both phones can receive a charge that’s good for two hours of talk time in just five minutes plugged in. For both, the rear camera features Sony’s IMX398 sensor with dual-focus that’s 40% faster than phase detection autofocus.
The device Oppo R9s Plus is the larger version which sports Full HD display (1080×1920 pixels) with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has 6GB RAM, internal storage capacity of 64GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. It is powered by a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor with Adreno 510 GPU and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the ColorOS 3.0 OS. It comes with a Fingerprint sensor and hybrid dual-SIM dual-standby card slot. It has the dimension of 163.63×80.8×7.35mm and weighs 185 grams.
The camera section of the device Oppo R9s Plus includes a rear 16MP Sony IMX398 camera sensor with f/1.7 aperture, dual-core focus, OIS, and LED flash and a front-facing camera of 16MP.
It is powered by a 4000mAh battery with VOOC flash charging technology, which offers up to 2 hours of talk time after just 5 minutes of charge. Connectivity wise, it features 4G VoLTE, GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.0.
The other device Oppo R9s comes with Full HD display (1080×1920 pixels) display with2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, 4GB of RAM, internal storage capacity of 64GB, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. It is powered by 2.0GHz Snapdragon 625 Octa-core processor with Adreno 506 GPU and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Color OS 3.0. It comes with the dimension of 153 x 74.3 x 6.58 mm and weighs 145g. It has Hybrid Dual SIM functionality.
The camera section of the device Oppo R9s includes a rear camera 16MP with f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.8″ sensor, 6P lens, EIS, LED Flash, 4K video recording and a front-facing camera of 16MP with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens. The fingerprint sensor is situated just below the display inside the Home Button.
Connectivity wise, it features 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual-band), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS.
It is powered by 3010mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge.
The users can get the devices Oppo R9s and R9s Plus in Gold, Rose Gold and Black colors .The device Oppo R9s costs 2799 yuan (US$ 415 / Rs. 27,680 approx.), while Oppo R9s Plus priced at 3499 yuan (US$ 519 / Rs. 34,590 approx.).
The pre-order of the devices in China is going on and Oppo R9s will be available from 28th October while the users can get the devie Oppo R9s Plus from December, 2016. The company will launch the device Oppo R9s in Singapore, Australia and Taiwan very soon but Indian users have to wait for few more days for its launching in Indian market.
