Recently, the Economic Times unveiled that both the devices Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be launched around 8th March, 2016.
Now Samsung kept it’s promise and finally launched both the devices for Indian users at it’s fixed schedule at an event in New Delhi.
Both the devices come with 32GB dual SIM version powered by the Exynos 8890 chipset.
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge features metal and glass design and have curved back, rounded edges , which support the users a better grip so that they can take easily in their hand. Both have not much differences compare to each other.
The device Samsung Galaxy S7 sports 2K Super AMOLED display of 5.1” with the resolutions of 2560×1440 pixels, pixel density of 577ppi, Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM and dimension of 142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9 mm. It’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820chipset with quad-core processor of 2.1GHz and runs on Android v6.0 (Marshmallow). The internal storage capacity of the device comes with 32/64 GB which can be further expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card slot. The device got IP68 certification which makes it dust -proof and water resistant over 1.5 meter for 30 minutes. It is powered by non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery.
The other device Samsung Galaxy S7 edge sports Super AMOLED display of 5.5” with the resolutions of 1440 x 2560 pixels, 534 ppi pixel density, 4 GB RAM ,dimension of 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm.
It is powered by Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820chipset with quad-core processor of 2.1GHz with Adreno 530 GPU and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The device gets the IP68 certification which makes its dust- proof and water resistant over 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
It has the internal storage capacity of 32/64 GB which can be further expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card slot up to 200 GB. It is powered by non-removable Li-Ion 3600 mAh battery.
Both supports fast charging and wireless charging and also the primary camera of both the devices features world’s first Dual Pixel sensor that can focus on the objects blazingly fast as all the pixels are used for focusing on the objects, f/1.7 aperture and dual-tone LED flash for stunning captures even in low-light conditions.
Connectivity wise, both the devices include 4G-LTE, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and a microUSB 2.0 port.
The camera section of both the devices Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge include a rear camera of 12 MP with phase detection autofocus, OIS and LED flash and front-facing camera of 5MP with a f/1.7 aperture with dual video calling with dual video.
Both the smartphones feature an Always-on display that shows the notifications and useful information even when the screen is turned off and also sports an Edge screen for quick access to various apps.
Both the devices Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge include a fingerprint sensor integrated into the physical home button for enhanced security and support for Samsung Pay virtual payments.
The Indian users will get the device Galaxy S7 at the cost of Rs 48,900 ($725) and the Galaxy S7 edge will be available Rs 56,900 ($844).
The pre-order of the devices has been already started and it will last up to 17TH March, 2016.
The company has also offered a free Gear VR to those users who will pre-book the device.
