According to the latest news Sony is going to launch the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact in the US in February.
The Xperia Z5 features a 5.2-inch 1080p display and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 810 processors. The smartphone runs on Android Lollipop, and will soon be updated to Android Marshmallow. It has also 3 GB of RAM and 2900 mAh. The Xperia Z5 Compact features a 4.6-inch 720p screen display and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 810 processors. The smartphone runs on Android Lollipop, and will soon be updated to Android Marshmallow. It has also 2 GB of RAM and 2700 mAh.
Rest of the specifications of the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact are common. Both the smartphone features dust- and water-resistant bodies, octa-core Snapdragon 810 processors, and 23 MP rear cameras with fast auto focus and 4K video recording.
The handsets will be sold unlocked starting February 7 via Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H. it is expected that the Xperia Z5 Compact will be cheaper than the larger Xperia Z5. The price of the Xperia Z5 Compact will be $499.99 and the price of larger Xperia Z5 will be $100 more: $599.99.
It seems that no carrier in the US is planning to release the smartphones. However they will work on AT&T and T-Mobile.
