Micromax Canvas 5 Launched


Today Micromax has added a new member in it’s canvas series named Canvas 5 which is the successor to the Canvas 4 smartphone that was launched back in 2013. It is consider that the smartphone features metal-styled side frame and leather-like back cover giving it a premium look and classy feel.

The Canvas 5 features a 5.2-inch (1080×1920 IPS Full-HD display offering 423ppi as pixel density with 2.5D arc glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is  powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU.  The smartphone runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes with planned upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow shortly.

In the rear side of the device it has a 13MP Samsung 3M2 camera with LED flash and PDAF technology for faster focus and in the front side it has a 5MP camera to take better selfie images. The device has also 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage that is further expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card slot.

It has dual SIM dual standby. Connectivity wise the smartphone featuress 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB port and a 2900mAh battery which offers one complete day on mixed usage. The dimensions of the device are 148 x 73.6 x 8.3 mm weighs around 143 grams and is available in colors- Black with Gold and Black with Grey.

The smartphone is available in stores across India starting today and the price of the device is Rs. 11,999.
