Huawei Mate 8 with 6-inch display, Kirin 950 octa-core processor and 16MP Sony IMX298 rear camera launched


Today an expensive smartphone named Mate 8 has been launched by Huawei in China. The Mate 8 features a 6-inch (1080×1920 pixels) Full-HD display comes with 2.5D arc glass and is powered by the latest Kirin 950 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz coupled with Mali-T880MP4 GPU. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based latest Huawei EMUI 4.0.

In the rear side of the smartphone it has a 16MP Sony IMX298 rear camera with OIS, PDAF for faster focus, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. Interestingly the rear camera of the device can record 4K video. In the front side of the device it has an 8MP Sony IMX179 camera for taking perfect selfie.

The device equips with dual SIM dual standby.  Connectivity wise the device features 4G-LTe, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/GNSS, NFC, DLNA and microUSB port. The full body of the Mate 8 is out of aluminum and also features a fingerprint sensor placed on the back side below the camera module.

The smartphone comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage with microSD card slot for further expansion and a 4000mAh battery. Firstly the smartphone will be available in China from Q1 of 2016 and it is expected that the price of the smartphone will be revealed by the company at CES 2016 event.
