Recently a teaser image (as above) has been published by the Huawei over the web so now it appears that Huawei is going to announce a new affordable Honor-branded smartphone that will take the ‘Play’ series to the next level called Honor 5X Play.
It has been officially confirmed by the Huawei that it is going to hold an event on October 10th which is when the device will be launched. It is consider the smartphone will be youth-oriented phone.
Recently TENAA has certified the phone for sale in China by TENAA which revealed it’s specifications. The Honor 5X Play will have a 5-inch 720p touchscreen display and will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6735 SoC with 1.3 GHz quad-core CPU. It will run Android 5.1 Lollipop underneath Huawei’s own Emotion UI skin. In the rear side of the device it will have a 13 MP camera with LED flash and in the front side it will have a 5 MP camera for taking personals selfie. The device will also have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage and a large 4,000 mAh battery.
The dimensions of the device will be 143.1 x 71.8 x 9.7 mm and weighs 159g. The smartphone will support 4G LTE and dual-SIM.
It is expected that the price of the device will be around CNY 999 which is $157 or €140 at the current exchange rates.
