Recently three new handsets named Archos 50 Cesium which is based on Windows 10 and other two named Archos Diamond S and Archos 50e Heliumm which is based on Android has been announced by Archos and now it has launched a tablet named Archos Diamond Tab which is consider to be their first octa-core tablet.
“Tablets have become a crucial piece of hardware in many customer’s tech lineups. We wanted to expand our Diamond line to include a tablet without sacrificing any of the specs that make an ARCHOS Diamond special” said by Loic Poirier, CEO, ARCHOS.
The Archos Diamond Tab features 7.9-inch 2K (2048 x 1536) IPS display and is powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT8752 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz coupled with ARM Mali T760-MP2 GPU. The tablet runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
In the rear side of the device it has a 5MP camera with LED flash and in the front side it has a 2MP camera for taking personal selfies and video calls. The tablet supports single SIM that comes with 4G-LTE connectivity and other connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi a/b/g/n, Wifi hotspot, GPS and microUSB 2.0. The device has 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage and microSD card support for further expansion of storage and a 4800mAh Li-Poly battery with Quick Charging support. Dimensions of the device are 202 x 134 x 7.8 mm and weighs 360 grams.
The price of the Archos Diamond Tab is £179 ($250), It is expected that Diamond Tab along with the Diamond S, 50 Cesium, and 50e Helium smartphones will be revealed by Archos at IFA 2015 in Berlin that will be held in Berlin starting from September 4th. The device will be available in stock starting from October 2015.
